LifeandLeadership.com Summary

This book may be of interest to those who use Blackaby’s popular curriculum Experiencing God or his book on personal and corporate revival, Fresh Encounter. One of the central principles of these materials is to become more attuned to hearing and heading God’s voice, which is developed more fully in this book. It is part of a large line of books and workbooks that build upon the teaching of Experiencing God.

Some may wish to balance the Experiencing God resources with the evaluation of mystical spirituality by Michael Horton, In the Face of God, which was written several years before. Nevertheless, many Christians have healthfully deepened their walk with God through this curriculum. Several volumes from the series are linked in the summary of Experiencing God. See similar resources, some of which provide a good balance to Blackaby, in the guiding essay on Spiritual Revival.

From the Publisher

Based on classic Experiencing God principles, Hearing God’s Voice is for those who are ready to listen. Beloved author Henry Blackaby and his son Richard help those who are listening to discern the voice of God, to identify ways He speaks, and to respond to His revelations of His will. God speaks to individuals in ways that are personal and unique to each person. God will never say anything that contravenes what He has said in the Bible, and usually He confirms what He has said. After you learn to listen to God, hearing from God will be as natural as communicating with a close friend.
