After 17 years of ministry in small churches across Vermont I realized there was a real need for training materials that would help pastors teach their lay leaders how to minister alongside them in a team effort. Pastors from 12 churches helped test this material across Vermont so that it would be practical as well as theological. Though I wrote it with bivocational pastors in mind, many fully funded pastors are telling me that the material is a help to them as well.

About the Author
While in college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, Terry joined the ministry staff at Thomas Road Baptist Church, one of America’s largest churches. Though Terry enjoyed his time in that mega-church setting, he soon realized that he wanted to impact individual lives in a deeper way than was possible in a mega-church.
Terry moved to Vermont as a church planting missionary with the North American Mission Board (SBC) in 1993. Upon first arriving in Vermont he served in a small village of less than 1000 residents. In 2001 Terry became the Director of the Green Mountain Baptist Association. The association is a network of churches across Vermont that work together to start new churches and plan strategic evangelism projects. Learn more about this ministry at www.vermontbaptist.org.
