About the Author
Dr. Hawkins was born as the 16 th child to the late Rev. Argenia Hawkins, in Jericho, New Jersey. Since completing high school at Woodbury High and later attending Gloucester County College, Rutgers University, and Rowan University, he has received degrees ranging from an associate of liberal arts to a masters in counseling. However, the thirst for education did not end with just secular degrees, but his real fulfillment came when he attended Dallas Theological Seminary where he received a Masters in Theology and a Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership Development.
Dr. Hawkins now having worked 29 years with Dr. Anthony T. Evans as assistant pastor pursues his passion to develop leaders throughout the Dallas metroplex and with influences that reach both nationally and internationally. He’s authored a book that is especially geared to the assistant and associate pastors entitled The Associate: Second Chair not Second Best. This publication will be released by Broadman and Holman in November, 2005. He’s also responsible for Principles of Leadership booklets, designed to relate to leadership issues facing the local church. These booklets form the basis of training which he has established through churches and Christian organizations.
His theme is “Leaders for tomorrow today”. He leads in the DFW area men’s and women’s Bible studies that focus on these issues.
Pastor Hawkins preaches, teaches and facilitates Leadership Principles and Practices throughout the United States.
