LifeandLeadership.com Summary

Theology of Mission and Ministry.

Summary: This work is an example of biblical ecclesiology. The author is a Catholic, and some of the chapters discuss items that are specific to that tradition. Most of this work, however, has value beyond his context. The first three chapters provide interesting history on how ecclesiology develops from the New Testament, from the early church to the Reformation, and from modernity to the twentieth century. Chapter 7 discusses theological method for ecclesiology. From there, authors theologize about certain aspects of the church such as church as communion, worshipping community, etc. There are also chapters that develop the theology of anthropology, spirituality, evangelism, social mission, and women in ministry.
